April 6, 2007, Seattle, WA - BMI will soon launch a comprehensive online multi-media distance training program for Kimball Hill Homes, a major US homebuilder headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The site is designed to educate Kimball Hill's Construction Managers on basic building practices, and to provide them with a strong working knowledge of the principles of building science and sound management skills to help reduce callbacks.
BMI developed this multi-media self-study online training university, which is uniquely tailored for Kimball Hill construction managers and supervisors. The training program includes testing functions and administrative tools that allow Kimball Hill to monitor training success and offer certification for Construction Managers who complete all stages of the program.
The online program, which augments Kimball Hill's existing training program, includes four levels of core curriculum training with a fifth level designed as a "Masters program" for continuing education credits beyond the core curriculum. Each level includes 20 to 30 distinct learning modules developed using common multi-media tools, including video and audio slide shows, and interactive Q&A demonstrations.
Each Construction Manager is assigned a course entry level, based a qualifying exam administered by Kimball Hill. Construction Managers must pass the test following each course with a score of 100%, ensuring that every participating employee is well versed in the relevant construction technology. The Construction Manager Building Knowledge University is designed to support Kimball Hill's Q4E (Quest for Excellence), a key quality philosophy for the firm.
