BMI HELPS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COOL OFF WITH ENERGY EFFICIENT A/C SYSTEMS

March 1, 2007, Seattle, WA - In a unique departure from the traditional utility rebate program that rewards customers for taking energy efficient measures, the A/C Quality Program provides incentives to licensed HVAC contractors, compensating them for promoting maintenance services and early retirement and replacement of aging, inefficient equipment with high efficiency A/C units.

Sponsored by Southern California Edison, the A/C Quality Program is designed to increase the profitability of contractor efforts to help Residential and Commercial building owners make smart decisions about their central A/C systems.

Collaborating with Resource Solutions Group and Conservations Services Group, BMI has developed three web sites. The Contractor site provides valuable information to help this group grow their business, with the tools and incentives they need to sell premium efficiency A/C equipment, retrofit existing systems and market ongoing maintenance contracts.

The other two web sites, for Residential and Commercial building owners, help visitors learn about energy efficient air conditioning systems. In addition, building owners can use the site to locate specially trained A/C Quality Participating Contractors, identify opportunities to save energy through ongoing maintenance or even learn about financing options for new high efficiency A/C equipment.

This multi-year program will capture critical energy savings associated with high efficiency air conditioning systems, while supporting the HVAC industry's drive towards innovation and excellence.
